The Security Officer is responsible for providing security services and customer service. This includes maintaining a safe environment by conducting patrols, responding to calls for service, and providing assistance to patients, visitors and staff. Responds to and gains control of confrontational/combative/disorderly situations and/or individuals on site. Security Officer responsibilities occurs in a number of areas at the hospital or clinic and may include outlying buildings and possible support other our organization to regional facilities.
High School Diploma or equivalent.Valid Drivers License with fewer than three moving violations or motor vehicle accidents within the previous 36 months. Post secondary degree in public safety discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.Two years healthcare security, law enforcement, or relevant military experience preferred. Certification by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB), International Association of Hospital Safety and Security (IAHSS), International Foundation of Protection Officers (IFPO), or American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) preferred.FEMA Certification in Incident Command System preferred. Current BLS, First Responder, or EMT Certification preferred. Knowledge of investigative procedures, defense and arrest tactics (DAAT), patrol techniques, and verbal de:escalation techniques, preferred.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.Pleasant, courteous, professional and friendly manner and appearanceComputer knowledge.Knowledge of investigative procedures, de:escalating violence, healthcare security, infant abduction and protection mechanisms.Ability to restrain potentially violent individuals.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is 11.40 per hour.
